Will the world end on Friday 13th 2009 at 3:31:30PM?

In writing today's murderous post on Google Analytics Cookies I happened to plug the value 1234567890 into my "Unix time stamp" converter, and what did I find?

Try it:

Timestamp converter

Talk of paranoia and superstition! Would that be 3:31:30PM Pacific Standard Time?

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I get:

1234567890: 2/14/2009 10:31:30

Looks like you might sleep through the end of the world.

Thanks for your comment, Anonymous - you raise an interesting point. Note that I asked whether the world would end at 3:31:30 Pacific Standard Time. Since down under you are way ahead of us, your world will come to an end on Saturday morning at 10:31:30

And when I put in my birthdate, it comes up with a totally different date and time. Hmmm. Weird.

Hi Mary
This little utility starts with the number of seconds and converts it to a date - it doesn't take a date and convert it to seconds.

If we get enough requests, we'll add the reverse calculation

That's right! With three out of the twelve months containing a Friday the 13th this has got to be one unlucky year!

Quite correct. Statistically, the 13th day of the month is more likely to be a Friday than any other day of the week.
